DOES THE HEART REPAIR ITSELF AFTER QUITTING SMOKING?

The answer: Yes, substantially and rapidly, beginning within minutes of the last cigarette. The heart’s recovery after cessation is one of the most dramatic and well-documented health improvements available from any single behavioral change.


What smoking does to the heart

Smoking attacks the cardiovascular system through multiple simultaneous mechanisms:
