WHO FOUNDED CIGNIX?

The answer: Cignix was founded by Ravi Singh- author, cessation specialist, and the person behind India’s most ambitious tobacco control mission: one million smokers helped to quit by 2030.

Who Ravi Singh is

Ravi Singh is not a clinician who discovered a public health problem from the outside. He is someone who understood addiction from the inside and built a platform to address it with the clinical rigor, behavioral science, and Indian context that existing cessation tools lack.

His credentials span the most respected institutions in addiction and cessation science globally:

Tobacco Treatment Specialist- Mayo Clinic Nicotine Dependence Center. The gold standard clinical credential in cessation globally- the same training model that the most rigorous hospital-based cessation programs worldwide are built around. The Mayo Clinic Nicotine Dependence Center is the institution that defined what evidence-based cessation looks like in clinical practice.

Psychology of Addiction and Recovery- Stanford Center for Health Education. The behavioral and psychological science of how addiction forms, how it sustains itself, and how recovery happens from one of the world’s leading health education institutions.

Addictions- Harvard Medical School Professional Education. Cutting-edge addiction science from the institution that has produced some of the most significant research on substance dependence, neuroplasticity, and behavioral change available.

He is the author of 7 Secrets to Quit Smoking- one of the early articulations of the cessation methodology that became the Cignix Protocol.

He participated in the TIMRA 2026 course, Tobacco Industry Monitoring, Research and Accountability, hosted by the  Tobacco Control Research Group at the University of Bath.

He is a public voice on tobacco control, industry accountability, and cessation science, writing about the tobacco industry’s manipulation of Indian consumers, the failure of existing cessation infrastructure to reach the populations most burdened by tobacco, and the neuroscience of how addiction is built and dismantled.

What drove the founding

The gap. India has 270 million tobacco users. The cessation infrastructure with clinics, trained counselors, accessible medication, and culturally relevant behavioral support reaches a fraction of them. The tools that exist were built for Western markets, calibrated for cigarette smokers, and priced and accessed in ways that exclude the majority of Indian tobacco users- bidi smokers, gutka users, low-income smokers in tier two and tier three cities with no access to cessation support of any kind.

Cignix was built to close that gap not incrementally, but at scale, using technology to deliver the behavioral methodology that clinical cessation programs provide to the few, to the many.

The legal entity

Cignix operates under Cignix Health Technologies Private Limited- the legal entity through which the platform and the Cignix Foundation are built.

The one thing to hold onto

Cignix was founded by someone who understood that India’s tobacco problem is not a knowledge problem- most smokers know smoking is harmful. It is a method problem- most smokers have never had access to a cessation approach that addresses the circuit where the addiction actually lives, delivered by someone with the clinical training, behavioral science foundation, and Indian context to make it work.

Ravi Singh built the approach. Cignix delivers it.

Cignix is India’s neural circuit-based smoking cessation platform. The Cignix Protocol works with the biology of how smoking is learned and how it is unlearned. The entry point is the Smoking Immunity Meter at learn.cignix.com/user/sim. Visit cignix.com.
