What nicotine was doing

Do not fight the fatigue with caffeine beyond your normal intake. Caffeine and nicotine share overlapping stimulant pathways; excess caffeine during withdrawal amplifies anxiety and disrupts sleep further, compounding rather than resolving the fatigue cycle.
Light physical movement, like a walk, not a workout, stimulates natural norepinephrine production and accelerates the brain’s recalibration of its own arousal system. Twenty minutes of walking produces measurable increases in energy and mood during withdrawal. This is the most direct available substitute for what nicotine was providing.
